WEDNESDAY WORDS FOR WISDOM, I GUESS

It took him a while to realize that everything he decided not to change, he was actually choosing. Once he reached a certain age, he started thinking about what was to happen when he reached the point of no return...his death.

This place we hope for is just over the horizon. But first, we must experience a certain consciousness, he started to believe. At least not a consciousness we were familiar with. The theorist doesn't believe in our kind of faith, he thought. That's fine, he said to himself. A great thing about faith in something more after death is that having faith will enhance your life here on Earth. You will enter that consciousness I referred to earlier in my post. He had hope that this was true.

.I am not bragging, a lot of people cut the grass...but...It is amazing to me how many times I can look out over my lawn and smile with pride at the fact that I've cut the grass. Progress, that's the feeling I get from it. Life is all about the little things. Note to self: focus on the little things today.

Things I want to say... I want to lash out when people post on Facebook words that are meant to destroy someone's character. The thing is, people are already forming opinions about others. So instead I just let it go...

Turn the other cheek, Jesus says. Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. Still today is Monday, a new day to laugh a little more, to love others a little harder. Please don't let that ugly behavior of gossip ruin your day. You can be a Spark on a Monday instead. You can choose to find a picture that makes you say Awww.

MY WORD, IT'S WEDNESDAY

Oh, I don't remember her name, but I overheard a lady telling her friend that she was "between a rock and a hard place", and that brought it to my memory the time I felt that way. What I thought was me just being lazy or needing to "knuckle down" was really me being overwhelmed with responsibility. The kind of responsibility that wasn't "my" responsibility. However, I was made to feel so. I was at the stage where I was "long in the tooth"; I was not young anymore. When dealing with my own health, well-being, and sense of self-worth, I was weak. I could handle it, but just handle it at a much slower pace. That's when I realized that I knew the lady. Her story is an intense one.

You see, there was the local prostitute who had five children with a man who seemed to get "satisfaction" from thinking he was "exempt" from any responsibility of his own life. He was an "absent" father to his children from his marriage of thirty years. Maybe it was a "combination" of his lack of listening to an "echo" from the Holy Spirit, and the fact that all he wanted to do was have "fun".

Either way, this was the wife. His wife, who felt empty of the love that she deserved from a husband who never grew up. He wasn't mature while thinking the world revolved around him instead of the sun. Good Grief!

 so I didn't do this in the Walmart cooler section

, featuring the latest Blue Bell ice cream flavors, but I sure did feel like it. Is it snowing yet? I'm ready for Fall, at least.

Like I was talking about earlier in my post, I love the produce and freezer section of Walmart. It's cold; my favorite temperature setting. My mom, however, tries to stay away from it. She is cold at the age of 78, and I am hot at the age of 51. Isn't life something? I love naps, cat cuddles, my blog, music, and reading. Oh and food. So much that I am on Wegovy for weight loss. But to digress, let's look at Pinterest for Tuesday funnies, then post some for a good laugh.

I was reminded this weekend that I have reached the stage where I don't care who likes me, as long as I like myself. Isn't that what really matters? I do not want to spend hours on the phone and gossip about others. My life isn't perfect either. Instead, I like to spend my time on my blog, cuddle with my cats, and care for my friends and my family. I beat to my own drum, and I like it that way.

Random Tuesday Thoughts

 I was in the middle of working on my son's college application to the local community college. I've worked on filling the application, all but a plan of study, which is something my son and I will figure out later tonight. P.S. I have been asking FOR weeks now. Anyway, my husband, a stroke survivor, called me in the room to watch him do his exercises that help him gain strength. I am really proud that he sits on the deck some during the day. He asked me, "What are we having for supper?"

I haven't even thought about supper yet!

So that's where I am right now.
