We need light.
We need sight.
How do we see with our other senses?
Do we see with our touch?
Can we hear sight?
Can we taste sight?
Can we smell sight?
These are questions I am asking myself constantly when I am taking care of my husband since his stroke.
John 16:33New King James Version
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you [a]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
When we lose one of our senses, the other senses take over. The different senses compensate for our loss.
This morning I wanted to get out of bed, make some coffee, and spend time with Jesus. I walked out of my bathroom and saw one of my cats waiting for me. Of course, I had to snuggle with him to start my day. John 16:33 popped into my mind to remind me that I can have peace. This verse was also a reminder that this world will have trouble, but with Jesus, I can have peace.
I am reminded of my husband's love for Star Wars and how Obi-Wan was Princess Leia's only hope. Just like that, Jesus, you are my only hope. Remind me, Jesus, that I can have peace today, cause it is difficult to "see" that I can have peace.
